Africa 07'
On one of the outreaches we had the chance to pray for two deaf mute boys. It was getting late at this point and we were getting ready to jump in our truck and leave when the two boys came out from the darkness lead by their mother for prayer. Both boys were born deaf and mute and were now about seven or eight years of age. As we prayed for the boys one of the boys mothers stood just out of arms reach looking intently on. After praying for several minutes we stopped and asked the boys one by one if anything had changed. Now they are deaf and mute so this took a little time to work out how we could get it across to them what was going on. At first there was no change, so we pressed in again. After the second time praying we realized one of the boys began to respond to us snapping in his ears which before he did not respond to it at all. You could see his expression begin to change when he realized that he could hear something. He did not know how to react at first because he has never heard anything before. As soon as the mother realized her boys ears had been healed she began to weep hysterically. After several minutes we began to play a repeat after me game. With every word the boy repeated more and more tears began to run down his face. He was so over joyed to finally hear and speak. Even if he did not know what he was hearing or speaking now he could! The other boy had his ears open but did not begin to speak before we left. So we had two deaf ears healed and one mute healed. It was such a joyous night. |

Africa 07'
On a medical outreach trip a witch doctor gets saved and healed! It was just like any other medical outreach trip to the bush of Africa. I was standing outside the medical tent trying to keep the crowd in order and bringing the worst cases inside the tent first. It was a very interesting task considering I knew very little Portuguese at the time. I was not inside the tent when this took place but heard what had happened moments later. As people would come into the medical tent the first thing they would ask them is if they have seen a witch doctor. If they had which most have,they would let them know it was wrong and why. An older man entered the tent and instead of answering yes I have seen a witch doctor he answered saying, " I am the witch doctor!" After speaking with him for awhile he wanted to receive the Lord and renounce everything he had been doing.
Not only did he get saved but when the man came in the tent he had cataracts in his eyes and was partially blind. As soon as he received the Lord, his eyes cleared up and his vision returned. After being healed he asked the doctors, "Would Jesus be upset if I still used herbs?" We asked, "What do you mean herbs?" The man then answered, "Will Jesus get mad if I still use the herbs that kill people?" Stunned they said, "Yes Jesus would not be happy if you used those herbs." They went onto to say that all you need to do is place oil on someone and use the name of Jesus and they will be healed! |

Witch doctor gets saved on medical outreach trip! After many hours of driving over roads shamelessly to be called roads we had finally made it. Sweat and dirt made up what used to be ours arms as we stepped out of the truck to set up camp. As soon as we had finished putting up the medical tent we already had a crowd lining up to be seen. After a couple hours of person after person entering the tent, we came to a stick of a man. After entering the tent the team found he did not need any physical healing and they began to wonder what was going on. Then the man spoke, "I see a power over your tent, that is greater then the power I have. What is it and I want it!" He was the witch doctor of the village that came to the tent to see what this greater power was he was seeing! After talking for several minutes the team lead him to the Lord. |

Africa 07'
Sometimes the presence of the Lord manifests as a pillar of fire or as a Cloud. Some people call these clouds, Glory Clouds. One night before evening prayer I thought about the Lords presence and wanted Him to come and change the atmosphere. I asked the Lord to come, I also asked that he would manifest His presence in the form of the pillar of fire throughout our house. After praying for awhile it was time to start evening prayer and I moved from my bedroom into the kitchen to start. After several minutes of praying there was a knock at the door. It was one of the long term missionaries just stopping by, as soon as the door opened he froze. He creeped his way inside saying, "Wow wow do you see that, do you see it?" Puzzled we all looked around the room, not knowing what was happening. He began to sweat just standing inside the doorway. He then said, "There is a pillar of fire right there in the middle of the room!" I had completely forgot that I prayed for a pillar of fire until he had said that. As soon as he had pointed and said he was seeing a pillar of fire I began to feel hot and began to sweat. I was sitting on the table in the middle of the kitchen and the pillar of fire was right in front of me. It felt like I was sitting in front a blazing fire pit. As the heat increased I became weak and fell face first off the table. Now laying on the floor in the middle of the fire pillar the heat intensified and I also felt rushes of what I best describe as the Lord's anointing or presence flowing through me. |
